Hygrophorus hypothejus Caps are 3-7 cm, slimy when wet, smooth, convex to flat and knobbed, olive-brown to red-brown, paler towards the margin, and become ochre with reddish tints in age. Gills are decurrent, far apart, and yellowish. Stalks are up to 10 cm tall by 1 cm broad, and coloured as cap or paler. Ring is slimy, anddisappears. Spore prints are white. Widespread but not common, it fruits on the ground under pines. |
