Caps are 2-7 cm across, dry, smooth, convex, sometimes broadly-knobbed or depressed, pale red-brown to orange-brown, and fade to tan. Gills are decurrent, far apart, and flesh-coloured. Stalks are up to 7 cm tall by 2 cm wide, dry, whitish or tinged as cap. Spore prints are white. Fruits on the ground in woods. Also known as Camrophyllus pratensis. Edible. |
