Hygrophorus erubescens Caps are 4-10 cm across, convex to flat and knobbed, grey-white with pinkish tinge or pink or red, unevenly spotted with purplish pink scales and hairs, sticky. Gills are attached, and spotted with red. Stalks are up to 7 cm tall by 1 cm broad, and coloured as the cap. Flesh is white, yellowish, and bitter. Widespread but not common, it fruits under conifers. Not edible. |
