Macrolepiota rachodes

Caps are 5-15 cm, dry, convex to plane or knobbed, brown at first, expanding and breaking up into coarse, brown scales on a white ground. Flesh is white, and bruises yellowish to brown. Gills are  free, white, and bruise brownish. Stalks are  up to 20 cm tall by 2.5 cm wide, and with a large basal bulb. Ring is white, large, and movable. Spore prints are  white. Widespread but not common, it fruits in grass or in open spots in woodland areas. Also known as Lepiota rhacodes.
