Arcyria nutans
In Arcyria nutans the sporangia at maturity are crowded, up to 12 mm long and become lax and floppy. They are bright yellow at first but age to ochre.
Sporangia are cylindrical, about 2 mm tall and have no stalk. The outer wall disappears, however, and the contents expand to form a floppy, cylindrical, yellow to ochre spore-head up to 12 mm long. Arcyria nutans is widespread and not uncommon. It fruits on well-rotted wood in scattered clusters.
