Cerrena unicolor

Fruitbodies are shelving and overlapping, 2-10 cm long, up to 6 cm wide, flat, densely hairy, concentrically zoned, thin, white to grey or pale brown, frequently turning green due to algal growth. Flesh is thin and separated from the upper surface by a thin black zone (seen on cutting). Pores are white to ochre, elongate to labyrinthiform (maze-like), sometimes tooth-like. Widespread and very common, it fruits on hardwood stumps and logs.
