Willkommlangea reticulata (Myxomycetes - Physarales)
The reticulate (net-form) fruitbody (plasmodiocarp) is distinctive in that it has reddish dots scattered along the length of the peridium (outside wall). The spore mass is black (upper right) with flecks of white, limy knots. Morphologically the plasmodiocarps show a lot of variability in shape, size, and colour - check images on web. Used to be known as Cienowskia reticulata.
This species is supposedly fairly common (Martin and Alexopoulos) but I have only seen it once! Well developed plasmodiocarps are pretty rare in the Slime Moulds and deserve special mention when they occur.
