Clavariadelphus ligula    Strap-Shaped Coral

Fruitbodies are up to 7 cm tall by 3-12 mm wide, unbranched, salmon-buff to brownish, with a smooth or wrinkled surface. Clubs are flattened, cylindrical or spindle-shaped, often wider near the tip and narrowly spathulate. The spore print is white to yellowish. Widespread and common, it fruits on the ground in coniferous or mixed woods.  Often in extensive fruitings (many square yards or metres or meters or whatever).  Not edible.
