Cyathus striatus       Striate Bird's Nest

Fruitbodies are up to 1 cm tall by 4-6 mm wide.   The 'nest' is cone-shaped, and the outside is covered with dark-brown, shaggy hairs.  The  inside is shining and  streaked or furrowed, and grey to lead-grey.  It fruits on sticks or plant debris.   This species is sometimes called 'Fluted Bird's Nest'.
