Gymnopus dryophilus         Oak Gymnopus

Certainly the easiest way to confirm the identity of Gymnopus dryophilus is to find some specimens being attacked by Syzygospora mycetophila (parasitic jelly fungus).  I found this parasite growing on Gymnopus in half a dozen separate locations on the same day.  Some years I don't find it!  Oops wrong picture!!
