Lactarius lignyotus   


Caps are 2-9 cm, dry, velvety, convex to flat becoming depressed, often knobbed, and dark-brown to yellow-brown.  Flesh is white, staining pinkish.  Latex is white,  turns pinkish, and is mild to slightly acrid. Gills are broadly attached to decurrent, well-spaced, and white to yellowish. Stalks are up to 12 cm tall by 1.2 cm broad, velvety, and coloured as cap. Spore prints are  buff.   It fruits under conifers. Edible but not recommended.
