Leotia lubrica              Jelly Babies

Description

Fruitbodies are gelatinous, yellow to yellow-brown and up to 5 cm tall, with an irregularly-lobed head 1-2 cm across. Stalks are cylindrical and dull yellow-brown. Widespread and common, Jelly Babies are found in groups or dense clusters on the ground in woods during wet periods.  The belong to the Sac Fungi (Ascomycota, Helotiales).
