Macro Scene on Old Log

Old rotten logs are very exciting places to inspect for interesting things.  These include slime moulds and fungi.  The main picture is the young aethalia of the common Lycogala epidendrum showing a range in size.  In the top right corner you can see the tiny frutibodies of Metatrichia vesparium with the brick-red capillitium spilling out.  In the bottom left corner you can see the tiny disc-shaped apothecia of Bisporella citrina.   There is another SM also but it is too small to be resolved against the dark background.
