Tuning Fork basidia of the Jelly Fungus Dacrymyces palmatus

The nonprofessional mycologists often read in guide books that the jelly fungi are separated out on the type of basidium (spore mother cell) produced on the hymenium.   In the jelly fungus Dacrymyces (click here)the basidium is said to be 'tuning fork' type.  So now you know what it looks like.
