
Leucoagaricus naucina Smooth Lepiota
Caps are 4-12 cm across, dry, smooth, convex, white, ageing buff. Gills are free, close, white, ageing pinkish. Stalks are up to 10 cm tall by 13 mm broad, white, with swollen base, smooth. Ring is narrow, movable. Spore prints are white. Common on lawns, sometimes in woods. Distinguished by the thin, movable ring, swollen base and lacking a cup. Edible but not recommended as it can be mistaken for the deadly Amanita virosa (click here).
