Gills are attached, close, white, often tinged yellow.  Stalks are up to 10 cm tall by 2 cm wide, white, sometimes flushed yellowish, fibre-streaked. Spore print is white. Widespread but not common, it fruits under conifers in sandy locations late in the year.  Edible but not recommended as easily confused with poisonous species.
