Mycena aurantiidisca Orange-Capped Mycena
There are many attractive species of Mycena lurking in the rainforests of the Pacific Northwest. This elegant species occurs in troops under conifers. As the species name indicates, the cap is orange at the centre but pales to cream or whitish towards the margin. The cap is borne aloft on a tall, slender, translucent stalk. Common and widespread in coastal regions.
