Stropharia ambigua Questionable Stropharia
The "Questionable Stropharia" is one of the most common and striking of the west coast mushrooms. Its cream-coloured cap and white woolly stalk are distinctive. It is also appendiculate and the inner veil attaches to the edge of the cap and in this case hangs down like a gossamer curtain.
