Biotron
- Plant Productivity Module is part of
the CFI Biotron project which is being developed at University of Western
Ontario and University of Guelph. The high light of this module is the low
temperature research facility. This research facility will provide access to
growth chambers where researchers will be able to run experiments at
temperature below freezing. The facility will also house a whole plant
photosynthesis measurement system and a leaf photosynthesis and radio
labelling system.
Applications
Biotron - Plant Productivity Module can used in various research
applications like:
To mimic the cold Canadian climate
To run experiments in CO2 enriched conditions
To measure photosynthesis by gas exchange in a
whole plant and a leaf (organ and organism level)
To measure plant water use and evapotranspiration
To study plan growth under controlled environmental
conditions
