The coop program in my eyes is designed to aid in allowing students to have real world work experience and allow the continuing growth and learning of a student to distinguish them in the competitive job market upon graduation. Through my 8 month co-op term at ASECO Integrated Systems, I was very fortunate to be able to expand, reinforce and be able to learn new skills to become a more professional and effective person.
Through working on various large projects and internal development initiatives, my technical skills were challenged but also allowed to grow. Beginning with being introduced to the Wonderware Platforms, I got a chance to see a little bit of the complexity and challenges that are found working in the manufacturing and systems integration field. I was able to work on stimulating and useful projects that allowed me to work with various IT, Programmer Analysts, and Controls Engineers which forced me to perform at a very high professional and technical level.
