Woodworking Specials
Sometimes I get some special items made. I'll post them here as they
get done, and will try to remember to remove them when they're gone.
Although I'm quite happy to sell my wares, I am not in the woodworking
business, so my prices reflect the time the hobby takes away from my family.
You can get more information on the wooden weapons by looking at the Sei
Do Kai catalogue.
If you are into making your own knives, check out the knife
handle blanks.
You can also get your tanto stabilized for an additional $15, this process
excludes all moisture and replaces it with a water repellant. It shouldn't
respond to humidity changes afterward. Any weapon up to 25" can be treated.
BRAZILIAN ROSEWOOD TANTO Now this
is special. I've located a very small supply of genuine Brazilian Rosewood.
This wood has been on the restricted list for quite a few years but the
supply is from salvaged logs. They have been sitting on the forest floor
for long enough that the sapwood has rotted away, and some of the pieces
show some charring due to fires.
I've got enough to make a few tanto. Please email me, or give me a call
(519)836-4357 if you'd like me to make you one. I don't think this supply
will last long. $55 each.
EBONY BO, TAPERED OR STRAIGHT
I have enough macassar ebony left to make a couple more bo. It is one inch
thick and can be made tapered or straight to your length. $300
CLUB BOKUTO ORDERS
Just so folks don't think all my stuff is this expensive, we have a line
of "club bokuto" available. These are sold in lots of 10 or more. The price
is $35 each plus shipping costs. The style is the generalized "Sei Do Kai"
(I've recently discovered this tip style is the same as that used on Tendo-ryu
bokuto), with a moderate even curve. The tip is 3/4 inch wide which gives
the bokuto lots of "beef" for heavy use. There is no shoulder but a tsuba
can be fitted using a rubber ring on both sides.
ONE OF A KIND PIECES
Well they're all one of a kind of course, but these pieces are pretty special.
I sometimes call them my private collection, but it really isn't a collection
since it keeps changing.
Give me a call at 519-836-4357 to see what I have on hand, they keep
moving out the door before I get a chance to update this page.
