examSMART

The examSMART program was offered by the Stress Management and High Performance Clinic in conjunction with the Learning Commons at the University of Guelph. This program provided skills training in :

Class time was divided equally between these two components.


There have been changes to the examSMART format and starting in fall 2009 strategies on managing test anxiety will be provided in the Stress Less for Tests program and tips for studying and writing exams will be offered by the Learning Commons.


CONTENT :

This program consisted of 4 group classes which emphasize brief, practical techniques and information which can be immediately applied to preparation and studying for university exams. Class meets twice a week for two weeks to allow time for home training and skill development. Topics included:

DATES, TIMES, and LOCATION :

This 4 session program meets from 5:30 - 7:00 pm., twice a week, in the Florence Partridge Room of McLaughlin Library (Room 384, at the north east corner of the third floor), University of Guelph, on Tuesday and Thursday, MARCH 17, 19, 24, and 26 , 2009

A minimum of 8 people are required for each group.

If you are unable to attend a class for any reason, you may make up that particular class at any future examSMART.
(Please call ahead to confirm the time and location when making up a class.)



FEE :

$ 20.00 for University of Guelph students (due to U of G Student Health Services subsidy)

Payment is by cash or cheque.



TO REGISTER :

It is also possible to register and pay in person at the first class if there is space remaining in the class. Check at the Learning Commons desk to see there are still spaces available.



WHAT IF I MISS A CLASS?

It would be ideal to attend all of the classes, however if you miss a class there are class handouts which can help you "catch up". You may also pick up the missed classes at any future examSMART program.
