We’re here as a support system for those who don’t identify as being a ‘typical’ student. We’ve been out of school for awhile and have vastly different experiences from the majority of younger students. Many of us have families, or are coming from full-time careers (or both!). Many of us are unfamiliar with the academic experience- which you have to admit is pretty daunting. So, we’re all a little thinly stretched between school, home, jobs, dogs, mortgages, babies, dealing with our new-found super powers or whatever else takes refuge under the umbrella of our lives. We understand how hard it is to go back to school and know how overwhelming all this Too Much Information can be.

       The lounge tries to simplify things. We’ve got a kitchenette, affordable printing , free scanning, couches, lockers and brand new computers! We’ve got social hours and quiet hours (please respect them!) for studying and relaxing – or just catching up on lost sleep. Also, we work on the honour system (please pay for pop and printing in the box by the door!) which I think we can all agree is pretty refreshing. The lounge is open during the day though members can have access anytime during UC building hours. Drop us a line with any questions or suggestions (Really though! Do it!), or just come hang out. Don’t be shy… or do. Just make sure you make the most of what we offer!
