Description: Financial support for graduate students (both M.S. and Ph.D.) in population genetics studies of salmonid, groundfish, and marine mollusk fisheries. Research using state-of-the-art equipment and molecular and statistical tools. The center has strong academic support in fisheries dynamics, evolutionary ecology, marine sanctuaries, aquaculture, and fisheries economics. Substantial federal and state agency representation allows for additional support and experience in fisheries management and marine ecosystems.

Description: Assist in oyster culture research focusing on hatchery, nursery, and/or off-bottom culture. Join a research group involved in studies addressing culture, polyploidy, gamete cryopreservation, transgenics, and disease monitoring and resistance. Qualifications: B.S. in biology, aquatic sciences, or related field. GPA of 3.0 and GRE scores of 1100+. Experience in bivalve hatchery, nursery, and/or grow-out systems preferred.
Salary: $14,000 per year.
