The Rotary is attempting a goal of 40% tree coverage. They'll be taking pictures of us (and sending us a copy). See Rotary Forest Challenge (PDF) for details and pre-registration. The Rotary has this to say about their pre-Registration (not required by Scouts or Rotary, but):
We challenge groups/companies to participate as a group. The ["Challenge" PDF file above] provides some details. Last year several scout groups registered for the challenge, had their picture taken etc. This year we want to organize this 40% Challenge a bit better, especially the taking of pictures. To help us do this we ask participating groups to preregister with me, including the name and address/email address of a contact person for the group. This way we can make sure that a photographer will be available, preferably in the field. Best wishes,Jan Jofriet, Chair

Like last year there will be parking at Lakeside Church and a shuttle bus from there to the Nature Centre, starting at 8:30 am. We will also have a free City bus going from the Square and a single stop at Victoria and Woodlawn on a 45 min. schedule. First bus from the Square at 8:30 am.
Scouts will gather near the Lakeside Church Parking Lot. The walk to the planting area from the parking lot is about 10-15 min, if you don't want the shuttle.
Lunch: Unfortunately, neither their or our budget allows them to supply lunch. In years past, there have been vendors selling hotdogs and burgers, and other things at the planting. Hnnn... fundraiser opportunity back at the parking lot?
Watch this space over the years to see our progress.
