Wellington Gilwell Club

The Gilwell Club has been around for ages and its members are Scouters that have completed their Part II Woodbadge (Advanced) Training. Everyone that has completed their Part II is automatically a part of the Gilwell Club, with no Club dues and no duties at camp for the first year. Whether or not you decide to stay is up to you, but we hope you do. Don't be swayed by stories......come out and see what we are all about. Some members are currently enrolled as leaders, some are involved at the Area level of Scouting, and some no longer take an active role in Scouting, but all share a common bond. They are committed to the youth in Wellington Area. Our ByLaws are online.

In September, members of the Club attend 'Reunion' at Blue Springs Scout Reserve. This is a great weekend spent visiting with fellow Scouters (especially those you bonded with during your training), and all sorts of fun activities.

In the spring, and again in the fall, we had social evenings with a potluck dinner, which was lots of fun. We also have a few regularly scheduled business meetings throughout the year:

  • September Reunion Meeting - Elect an Executive
  • November Business Meeting
  • February Business Meeting
  • June Business Meeting and BBQ
We do a lot more than just have meetings. Our members are very involved as volunteers and organizers at many activities within Wellington Area and Central Escarpment. Just to name a few..........
  • Rotary Club RibFest - our only Fundraiser
  • Wellington Area Cub-o-ree, Beaveree, and Beaver Burr
  • Cub 6-ers and Seconds Workshop (with Brantford)
  • Wellington Area 100th Anniversary Camp
  • Central Escarpment Fall Camporee (Coming September)
  • Kub Kars/18 Wheeler Rally/Beaver Buggies
  • Helping maintain Barber Scout Camp.
So come out and see for yourself what the Gilwell Club is like.
