Welcome to the RIPNET website!
RIPNET stands for the Riparian Research and Management Network, a network dedicated to research and policy on riparian systems in Canada's boreal forest. It is our goal to create a website that will serve as the central virtual repository for information exchange and communication among riparian researchers, regulators and policy makers, forest managers, and anyone else with an interest in riparian issues and shoreline forest management. Planned features of the RIPNET website include:
- A directory of riparian researchers and links to corresponding web sites if available.
- A feature page highlighting the research activities of riparian researchers in Canada.
- A file transfer protocol (ftp) site for uploading/downloading information.
- A list of books and bibliographies pertaining to riparian research and policy development (with the goal of developing this into a searchable database).
- An events calendar for information on upcoming riparian conferences and workshops.
- An area to request help and/or information or advertise positions.
- An archive for RIPNET NEWS, a quarterly newsletter describing the activities of RIPNET.
Here, you will find links to researchers across Canada in academia and government, as well as those in industry and non-governmental organizations who are interested in riparian research and policy.
