Current and Emerging Diseases/Disorders of Fish in Aquaculture

1. 'diseases/disorders' - include both infectious and non-infectious; and 'fish' - include both finfish and shellfish
2. articles in the 'special issue' will be refereed, and we will try to have a good mix of critical reviews (on specific diseases/disorders) and original research papers
3. deadline for submission of manuscripts: October 1, 2011
4. deadline for submission of revised manuscript: November 1, 2011
5. publication date: December 1, 2011
Format and coverage of reviews: articles should be relevant and concise, user friendly, and with consistency in coverage;
consequently, authors should whenever possible follow our guideline:
I. Introduction: to include a brief description of the infectious agent/non-infectious 'problem'; its hosts and geographical distributions; transmission process if it is infectious; factors associated with the 'problem' if it is non-infectious
II. Impact(s) on fish production
III. Diagnosis: include molecular/immunological/biochemical/morphological techniques
IV. Clinical signs, gross and histopathological lesions
V. Prevention and control: include environmental modifications, immunologic/chemotherapeutic approaches
VI. Conclusions with brief suggestions for future research
