Briefly, Patrick was Postdoctoral Fellow (Medical Research Council) and Ballard Fellow @ OVC, UoG; Andre Mayer Research Fellow (FAO) @ EATRO (East African Trypanosomiasis Research Organization, Uganda) and @ SRI (Serengeti Research Institute, Tanzania); and IDRC Research Consultant and Visiting Scientist @ NITR (Nigerian Institute for Trypanosomiasis Research, Nigeria) before his academic appointment @ UoG in 1974.

Research and Associated Activities
Dr. Woo has always focused his research on the hemoflagellates including those of medical and economic importance. His early studies were on trypanosomes and mammalian trypanosomiasis with field work in Africa. He developed his program on Cryptobia and cryptobiosis (includes protective strategies) after his appointment @ UoG.
