Faculty Research in Rural History

Studying - and serving - rural communities has been a core orientation of the University of Guelph since its origins as an agricultural college. As was recognized by the establishment of the Canada Research Chair in Rural History in 2002, the Department of History has long shared this interest. Guelph faculty pursue research on rural themes from several perspectives and in various settings, including Canada, Latin America, Ireland, and Nigeria.
