Ethics in engineering

Besides being technically competent, engineers need to be reflective and ethically aware, because they have special responsibilities related to issues like safety, health, and the environment. Those responsibilities are expressed in ethical codes of professional organizations, such as the Code of Ethics of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Academic integrity

The value of an academic degree depends on the integrity of the work done by the student to earn that degree. Therefore it is important that all the members of the university community maintain an atmosphere of integrity in all aspects of academic life. The tutorial on academic integrity of the University of Guelph helps you understand academic integrity and it is a good first step towards engaging in thoughtful behaviour and keeping a high level of honor in your work.
