LAB PERSONNEL NEWS

2011 Perrin Baker is a recipient of the Donald R. Phillips award. The award is given in recognition to graduate student's contribution to research as evidenced by authorship of publications and conference presentations in the area of molecular biology, genetics, and cell biology.

2011 Scott Mazurkewich won the GIBCO/BRL Microbiology Research Excellence Award for the best undergraduate project. He also received the Ontario Graduate Scholarship.

2010 Congratulations to Perrin Baker for winning the Pharmacia Microbiology Graduate Award. The award is given to graduate student enrolled in the Microbiology Program who is judged to have presented the best poster at a scientific meeting during the academic year.

2010 Perrin Baker and Jason Carere received travel awards from the University of Guelph to attend the Gordon Conference on "Enzymes, coenzymes and metabolic pathways).

2009 Congratulations to Perrin Baker for receiving the NSERC PGS-D award. Perrin also received the Arthur D. Lartonell Graduate and Travel Scholarships from the University of Guelph earlier this year.

2008 Congratulations to Filomena Ng for winning the Roche Molecular Biochemicals Award of Excellence. This is given to the student who presents the best graduate seminar in the department.

2008 Filomena Ng was awarded the ICI Scholarship in Biotechnology.
