The Student Volunteer Grant serves as a catalyst for some serious social action and opportunities to get involved without the stress of the finances. Whether you are a group looking to run a local awareness campaign, or a volunteer enthusiast planning to participate in community building miles away, we're here to help.

We've made it even easier for you to apply too! Follow the steps below in order to be considered for the Student Volunteer Grant!

1. pick the type:

Individual

SVC has alotted a total of $2,000 for Student Volunteer Grants given to individuals. Each individual can apply once each fiscal term (April - April), up to a maximum of $150.

Group / Event

SVC has $5000 to help out on-campus student groups, organizations, and/or campaigns that incorporate volunteerism. Each organization, initiative, and/or campaign can apply for up to $500 per fiscal year.

However, when dealt with exceptional cases, the board may decide to award a specific request additionally. In fairness to all parties, no group, organization, or event will be awarded more than one thousand dollars ($1000) in a fiscal year.

3. fill out the form:

4. choose a date:

you must give a quick presentation to the SVC Board of Directors Finance Committee on how the initiative will impact the University of Guelph and build community.

Applications are due:

  2. Jan 31, 2013 at 11:59pm
  3. Feb 14, 2013 at 11:59pm
  4. Mar 7, 2013 at 11:59pm

Presentations to the Finance Committee will take place at Raithby House on:

  1. Jan 24, 2013 at 3-5pm
  2. Feb 7, 2013 at 3-5pm
  3. Feb 28, 2013 at 3-5pm
  4. Mar 14, 2013 at 3-5pm LAST GRANT MEETING

5. send us an email:

email treasurer@dosomuch.ca with subject line "ATTN: STUDENT VOLUNTEER GRANT APPLICATION". Please attach your completed application and indicate which meeting you would like to present at. You will hear back within 1-3 business days from the SVC Treasurer to confirm your application submission and to fill you in on the next steps.
