The Drum Tower lies north of the Forbidden Palace. This shot is taken from Jingshan Park which is situated between The Forbidden Palace and the Drum Tower. For the 2 Yuan entry fee to Jingshan Park, it offers a great view of the city from a height. The structure in the distance is the Drum Tower while in the foreground, the buildings are part of structures in Jingshan Park (Shouhuang Palace - Hall of Imperial Longevity). You can see the busy traffic in the city as well as the massive construction going on. The Drum Tower and the Bell Tower just to the north of it were used in the olden days to signal time
