Weiguang (Gavin) Ding

I am a research scientist (January 2014 to present) working with Dr. Graham Taylor in School of Engineering, University of Guelph, Canada.
Generally, I am interested in topics of related to intelligence, especially learning and vision. Currently I am working on deep learning and representation learning.

Brief Bio:
I got my Bachelor of Engineering degree from School of Advanced Engineering (academic talent program) at Beihang University (Beijing, China), where I studied Automation, specifically, flight control system.
I got my Master of Applied Science degree from School of Engineering Science at Simon Fraser University (Burnaby, BC, Canada). I worked on medical image analysis with Dr. Mirza Faisal Beg. At SFU, I worked on 2 projects: 1) analysis of zebrafish heart optical mapping data; 2) automated detection of retinal fluids from OCT images.
