Resource Library
The GRCGED has a resource library which includes books (mostly print; some audio), magazines, videos, cds, tapes, journals, government documents, ‘zines, unbound articles

You will be able to visit our library catalogue online very soon. We will have catalogues from Out On The Shelf and Guelph Queer Equality soon too.  The OPIRG Guelph library is searchable through the TRELIS system at the McLaughlin Library at the University of Guelph.

If you have specific requests, let us know what your are looking for and we will do our best to find it for you. Most of our resources can be transferred into a variety of formats including electronic, audio and braille.

**OUR NEW LIBRARY CATEGORIES**
The GRCGED Resource Library is moving away from essentialist identity-based categories that oversimplify and silence the complex experiences of people experiencing multiple systems of oppression. However, in acknowledging that identity does affect our daily-lived experiences in a variety of ways and honoring the importance of those experiences, we have chosen to highlight works that are related to groups that are traditionally marginalized in dominant spaces to make finding books and resources in the library easier. This is not to normalize the experiences of those not identified, but simply to recognize that the voices of these groups have traditionally been obscured and to hopefully make it easier to locate these works. If you are looking for books related to people of colour, indigenous people, queer people, transfolk and Dis/Abilities, please watch out for these stickers in each category.

A note about the Dis/Abilities section:
The only exception to this new system is the Dis/Abilities section. In mediating the tension between being too identity based in our categories and the commitment to improving accessibility at the GRCGED, we have decided to prioritize physical accessibility and have kept all books related to Dis/Abilities in one section. However, should books that primarily fit into other categories have some content related to Dis/Abilities, a sticker will be included.  We are conscious that physical accessibility is something we are working towards for the library in general, should you have any questions about accessibility please email the GRCGED’s accessibility agent.

The GRCGED Resource Library is constantly evolving, if you have any suggestions about misplaced books or new categories, please let us know.
