About the CWS
CWS is a student organization committed to developing the talent of and opportunities for student literary writers. During its inaugural year, CWS organized a symposium on and for young Canadian writers, pimped its house poets as bards-on-demand for adventurous Valentine's Day gift givers, and hosted an open-mic evening at the Bookshelf Green Room.
We meet Mondays, 5:30 in the CASU office, and our meetings include: workshops where writers can test new material and receive constructive criticism; guest speakers (and writers) from local journals and publishers; and, most importantly, time to write (and perhaps to share our improvised compositions, if we feel inspired).
Last but not least, CWS offers collegial leadership opportunities for students from any program who are interested in helping to develop local literature.
