This bibliography was compiled with the generous help of many people
and sources. Of principle use was the Friends of Algonquin park publication:
Algonquin Provincial Park Bibliography (1996). Additional references
were gathered from the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources bibliographies
and from papers and files kept on-site at the Wildlife Research Station.
The latter of these being maintained, compiled and cared for by previous
and present Station Managers.
To ease in locating specific research on different topics, this bibliography
has been divided into ten topic sections. Within each section, references
are arranged alphabetically in three subsections. The first subsection
is for references that appeared in peer-reviewed journals, followed
by Master’s and Ph.D. references and finally by technical and research
paper references. The filing system used at the Algonquin Park Museum
(APM) has been adopted here. Thus, where applicable, the APM number
was included to facilitate the location of these documents at the Visitor
Center Library.
The references in this bibliography were included if they met the criteria
of having some component of their work done at the Wildlife Research
Station. This was done in an attempt to reflect the multi-use nature
of the research station.
New references will be added as they become available and if there are any omissions that you know of, please forward the reference information to the Station Manager.
