A Conversation With Kim Parlee I applied to a number of schools but when we came to Guelph and I spent some time here I fell in love with the campus and I fell in love with just the vibe, quite frankly. I mean, Guelph is a pretty special place on a whole bunch of fronts. It’s got great academics, it’s got great community and it’s nice. So I think that’s something that really attracted me to the campus when I was here and that’s why I made the choice. Professors Who Made a Difference When I look back at the actually degree itself and what I learned, I think the people that were teaching and the profs, I mean, they were amazing. I mean, these were people who I found were very enthusiastic about about what they were teaching so you got this feeling of a bit of adventure when you were talking to professors about we’re going to go on this path, this academic path. That does a lot, I think, for a class to understand and when you see a prof that passionate about what they do, that’s really infectious to the rest of the students. Developing Leaders for a Sustainable World I can’t emphasis enough how important I think it is for business leaders, or upcoming business leaders, to develop a social conscience in terms of what’s happening in the world. You know, it’s an incredible world we’re living in right now and I think what is going to be more important now than it’s ever has been before is making sure that we have people with ethics, with conscience and principled, in terms of how we want to develop these types of things in the world, and that’s why I think it’s so important that emphasis is here at the University of Guelph.
