Siya Khatri, Co-op Student of the Year, Bachelor of Commerce: Hi, my name is Siya and I'm a fifth year management co-op student. I worked at CCMPS for my last co-op term. My role was the marketing and communications co-op student.

Alex Besszong, Nominator: Siya is what we would consider a truly stellar, outstanding student. We've been lucky we have had many exceptional students. Siya from the first day went above and beyond those expectations in her collegialism, her teamwork, her professionalism and attention to detail.

Siya: I think what enabled me to succeed was mentorship from my manager and my coworkers on the team.

Siya: I think the main highlights are that I got a well-rounded overview of what it is to work in marketing and communications. I learned about social media marketing, the algorithms, analytics, learned about email marketing, SEO and all of that really set me up well for continuing my journey in the marketing field.

Alex: What made Siya stand out to us for this position was her ability to integrate with the team so quickly. She really hit the ground running from the first day in her role and she began functioning akin to a full-time staff member.

Siya: In this role, I learned that I thrive on creativity and being challenged to learn new skills. Photography from time to time, designing, graphic design, I wanna pursue marketing as a full-time career and I wanna make sure that what I do in my future career resonates with me.
