Accessibility barriers to high impact practices (HIPs) in post-secondary education

Summary:

Engaging in high impact teaching practice is the hallmark of a quality education. All students should have access. Yet there is little research on the barriers, both personal and institutional that exist to accessing these long lasting educational opportunities. Field courses can be the most immersive and long lasting educational experience for students but they are poorly accessed. We will investigate the barriers that exist to all HIPs and to field courses specifically and we will design a framework to reduce these barriers and increase access.
