How to Apply to Undergraduate Programs | International Students
Apply to the University of Guelph from Outside of Canada
Applications for 2025 open in September. Check back soon for more information!
- Explore our Programs of Study and check the program-specific admission requirements, including English proficiency.
- Fill in and submit the appropriate Application Form along with your fee.
- After processing, you will receive login information and instructions to upload documents to your Admission Portal. Submit the appropriate transcripts and other required documentation as listed in your portal checklist.
- Submit English proficiency test scores, as required. IELTS scores may be scanned and verified on-site. All other test scores must be sent officially.
- Monitor your email and Admission Portal for application updates and next steps.
International Students may need a Study Permit and Provincial Attestation Letter to study at the University of Guelph. The detailed procedure regarding study permit application can be found on the Immigration Refugee Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website. Our DLI# is O19305391192.

Applications for 2025 open in September. Find details on application methods below.
- Provide complete personal information (name, address, date of birth). List the e-mail address, mailing address, and telephone, where you can be contacted throughout the application process.
- A $90 CAD non-refundable application processing fee is required of all high school (semester one) applicants. Advanced Standing/Transfer applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable fee of $180 CAD, which includes the $90 CAD application fee and $90 CAD evaluation fee.
The Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) is the service provider used by the University of Guelph to process and deliver your application information and payment. All information you provide on the online application will be used exclusively by the University of Guelph.
- Proceed to Common App to start your application.
- A $90 USD non-refundable application processing fee is required of all high school (semester one) applicants. Advanced Standing/Transfer applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable fee of $180 USD (this includes a $90 USD application fee and $90 USD evaluation fee).
- The Common App site gives the option of a fee waiver, however we will not waive the application processing fees.
Disclaimer: The Common App can not be used by Canadian citizens (including those with dual citizenship) or Permanent Residents; these applicants must use the Ontario Universities Application Centre (OUAC) site.

Canadian Citizens
Canadian citizens attending school outside of Canada must apply through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC). This application will open in September for fall 2025. For more information, please email intapps@uoguelph.ca.
