U of G master's student Courtney Higgins shared her pasture research with BFO's Jaclyn Horenberg at the Ontario Beef Research Centre [1] as part of the organization's Rural Ramble on the Road series.
Watch the video to see Courtney demonstrate the use of a rising plate meter, which is the focus of her research with Dr. Kim Schneider [2], researcher and professor in the Department of Plant Agriculture.
Using a rising plate meter can help producers make on-farm decisions, such as when to move their animals, or how many to leave on-pasture at a time.
Watch the video on BFO's YouTube channel [3].
The Ontario Beef Research Centre is owned by the Agricultural Research Institute of Ontario and managed by the University of Guelph through the Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Alliance.
