The TVO Water Brothers episode titled “Save our Soils” [1] explores the way soil is foundational to clean water and our food supply.
Dr. Claudia Wagner-Riddle [2], Dr. Kari Dunfield [3], Dr. Adam Gillespie [4] and Dr. Genevieve Ali [5] are part of the half-hour mini documentary that airs Nov. 30 at 9 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. The U of G faculty members share with the Water Brothers how they are helping to protect the vital connection between healthy soil and water management.
U of G researchers have been measuring crop performance at the Ontario Crops Research Centre sites across the province, with some trials in Ridgetown [6] and Elora [7] dating back for 25 and 40 years, respectively. These research initiatives were made possible in part by the Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Alliance [8], a decades long collaboration between U of G and the Government of Ontario.
The episode is available now for viewing on TVO’s YouTube page [1].
