Research Summary: RNA interference (RNAi) is a potent and specific new therapeutic modality for animals and humans. However, these molecules require a delivery system that shields them from the immune system. The Paliyath lab has isolated a novel nanoproduct from sour cherry fruit that enables oral delivery of these biological molecules. We propose to demonstrate that RNA-Nanopect adducts can safely and efficiently be delivered into mammalian cells.
