2014-2015 B.B.R.M.

Please Read Carefully!

Once a Schedule of Studies is published, the University does not go back and “fix it” when courses are deleted or changed. To help you keep track of what you need to graduate, changes to your Schedule of Studies are listed below. Some students find it useful to review these changes with a copy of their Program/Academic Evaluation in front of them. This way you can mark off what you have completed and what you still need to complete. Please note that substitutions won’t always show up on your Program/Academic Evaluation. If you find errors on your Program/Academic Evaluation, or if you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your Program Counsellor.

Changes are listed for each major:

  • ENVS 1030

Semester 2 courses on the Guelph campus:

Restricted Electives

A new course, ENVS 4390 (Soil Variability and Land Evaluation) will be a 1.00 course starting Fall 2015; currently its title is not listed in the Schedule of Studies.

BIOL 3120 is no longer offered; the replacement course requires STAT 2040, so we are investigating your ability to take this course. UPDATE: STAT 2060 has been added as a prerequisite to the new course, BIOL 3060 (Populations, Communities and Ecosystems). BIOL 3060 is a combination of BIOL 3110 and BIOL 3120. If neither course has been completed, students can apply BIOL 3060 towards the restricted elective requirement. If BIOL 3110 has been completed, BIOL 3060 can be completed and count towards restricted electives. Please come talk to Melinda if you are in this category; we will need to complete a course waiver form for BIOL 3060. If BIOL 3120 has been completed, please select other restricted electives.

BIOL 3110 is not a restricted elective, but is a prerequisite option for some restricted electives. Please note that this course is no longer offered and the material has moved to the new BIOL 3060 course. Please plan to take alternative prerequisites until the department corrects its current prerequisites which include BIOL 3110.

ENVS 3190 is being deleted and will be replaced by ENVS 3220 (first offered Fall 2016). You may take ENVS 3220 as restricted elective.

EDRD 3400 will change to a Winter offering. It has been cancelled for Fall 2016, then next offered Winter 2018.

EDRD 4500 is no longer being offered. Please watch your 4000 level requirements from List A; there are quite a lot that require prerequisites that you will have to plan to take instead of this course.

ENVS 3250 will not be offered Fall 2017.

ENVS 3000 is cancelled for Winter 2018. It should be offered Winter 2019.

ENVS 4070 is cancelled for Winter 2018. It should be offered Winter 2019.

EDRD 4500 is no longer being offered. Please watch your 4000 level requirements from List A; there are quite a lot that require prerequisites that you will have to plan to take instead of this course.

Other Information

ACCT 2220 will become ACCT 1220 in the 2016-2017 Undergraduate Calendar.

Changes for Equine Management

Semester 1 courses on the Guelph campus:

  • EQN 1010
  • BIOL 1090
  • BIOL 1050
  • ECON 1050

Semester 2 courses on the Guelph campus:

EQN 2060 is "Equine Event Management I" and EQN 2070 is "Equine Event Management II". MBG 4030 is "Genetics of Companion Animals". These titles are currently missing in the Schedule of Studies.

Semester 7 & 8 changes to courses on the Guelph campus:

EQN 3070 is moving from a Winter offering to a Fall offering. It will not be offered in a Winter semester. It will first be offered in Fall in 2017 which means you will move EQN 3070 from Winter 2018 and put it in your schedule for Fall 2017.

EQN 4400 is moving from a Winter offering to a Fall offering. It will last be offered in Winter 2017. It will first be offered in Fall in 2017 which means you will move EQN 4400 from Winter 2018 and put it in your schedule for Fall 2017.

AGR 2030 has been deleted as of Fall 2017. If you still need this course, you will select CROP 3340 (Managed Grasslands) as a substition. CROP 3340 should be offered Winter 2018 (but you will need to be signed in- the prerequisite won't be changed yet) and offered Fall 2018 (as it moves from a Winter only to Fall only offering). Its prerequisite will now include ENVS 2060. You can not use CROP 3340 as a restricted elective anymore if you use CROP 3340 for AGR 2030. If you have questions, please contact Melinda.
