S18 and F18 Course Selection Updates

Updates for Summer:

Course selection for Summer 2018 will begin March 6th and end on March 26th.

Course selection windows for Summer 2018 are as follows:

Changes to S18 and F18 Course Selection

Course selection is changing, effective immediately.

Summer course selection will begin March 5th.

Fall course selection will no longer occur in March and will begin some time in June.

Reminder – Drop in Hours and Appointment Times

As a reminder, I am available for appointments and drop ins during course selection. If you would like to sit down with me for an appointment please come to Johnston Hall 133A and sign up for a 15 minute time slot on the sheets provided. I ask that you only have one sign up time during this course selection period so others can have a chance to sign up as well. Please note that you must book your appointment time before we close the day before the appointment. No same day appointments will be booked unless it is an emergency.

Full Courses or Missing Prerequisite

Many courses are doing what is called “rolling enrollment”. This means they are opening spots throughout the course selection period with hopes of giving students with later selection windows equal opportunity to add courses. If a course is full and the cap looks suspiciously low (nothing is capped at 5!), they are likely using the rolling enrollment system.

ACCT 1220 Restriction

ACCT 1220 is currently showing as restricted to B.Comm students only. This was an error on the department's behalf that is currently being fixed. This should be correctly by 5pm today and if not, it should be fixed by tomorrow morning (likely around 9am). They apologize for the oversight.

I am not told about all course cancellations, but ones that I am aware of I will post here. So far the following will not be offered this coming Winter:

Course Selection – Winter 2018

Course Selection for the Winter semester runs from October 11th to November 2nd, 2017. Your selection time will depend on your ID number and semester level. Your semester level is listed on your Program/Academic Evaluation (available on WebAdvisor). Your time to start signing up for courses will be emailed to you by the Registrar's Office soon. It will also be listed on WebAdvisor.

Course Registration – Fall Semester

Course Registration for the Fall Semester will open on August 21st at midnight. If you did not pay your $200 deposit on or before August 11th, your courses will be removed from your schedule. The Registrar's Office will notify you via email if you were deregistered from your courses. You must pay this deposit before you can add courses to your schedule again. It is your responsibility to add your courses back to your schedule on WebAdvisor if you have been deregistered; your previous space is not guaranteed.
