For Equine Management majors: As of right now, BIOL 1050 will not fit into your schedule due to a full ECON 1050 section. In order to protect the sections that work for you, we are leaving them as full for now while students in other programs select the spaces that are available. This is to save the spots that work for you in the long run. If you still have to select BIOL 1050 and need into a full section, please contact Melinda (email@example.com).
Just a quick reminder that first year courses are monitored by departments daily (during the week), so if a course fills up, be assured that it is being monitored and spots will be opened (unless posted otherwise on this website; as we get closer to July 5th, less spots will become available). Recall that when you are likely selecting (at night!) conflicts with our work hours (most of us leave work before 5:00pm). This may sometimes means that spaces fill up overnight when students are selecting and staff members are not monitoring spaces in courses.
UPDATED: EQN 1010 has opened the Monday, Friday lab section again.
(EQN 1010 is appearing as full on WebAdvisor. The department is looking at potentially removing one of the lab sections and has temporarily closed both sections while they confirm numbers. Please select all of your other courses and email Melinda (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you still need EQN 1010.)
Many of you have asked if 10 minutes is enough time to get from one classroom to another. I assure you, I am a slow walker and yes, 10 minutes is enough time to get from one class to another!
Yes, students entering their first semester in the fall will only be taking four courses!
For the B.B.R.M. degree program students are required to take a course worth 1.00 credits. For Environmental Management students, this is ENVS*1030 and for Equine Management students this is EQN*1010. This course, in addition to the other three courses each worth 0.50 credits, will give you a total of 2.50 credits which gives you full-time registration.
This also means you cannot select an elective course for the fall semester.
Welcome new students! Congratulations on your decision to join the University of Guelph family.
