The course Add Period runs from December 12th, 2016 to January 13th 2017. During this time you can add and drop courses for the Winter 2017 semester. Please keep in mind the exam schedule will be posted; you must not enroll in courses which have an exam conflict.
If you have missed a final exam or a final assignment, please contact the Program Counselling Office (Johnston Hall, 133A or ext. 54800) to discuss your options. You have five working days after the missed exam or final assignment deadline to submit a request for a deferred privilege, so please contact the office as soon as you are able. If you are unable to contact the office due to extreme circumstances, please take care of yourself first and then contact the office.
Please note that the last day of classes is December 2nd and the exam period will begin on December 5th. Good luck on exams! As a reminder, Thursday, December 1st is for classes rescheduled from Tuesday, October 11th and is a Tuesday schedule. Friday, December 2nd is for classes rescheduled from Monday, October 10th and is a Monday schedule.
All graduation applications have been processed. If you were not contacted by me, your application has been moved to "Tentative". This means you have all the correct courses and the right amount of credits; all that is left is for you to successfully complete your current courses and have a 60% cumulative average. Enjoy the rest of the semester and good luck on exams!
Weekly drop in hours resume today. They will still be held every Monday from 12:00pm-1:00pm and Tuesday from 11:30am-12:30pm. This is when I am available on a first come, first served basis. To see me outside of these hours, please contact Carie by phone (ext 54800) or in person (Johnston Hall 133A) during our open door hours (Mondays to Thursdays 10:00am-3:00pm and Fridays 10:00am-12:00pm) to book an appointment.
Course selection will close tomorrow, November 4th, 2016. The course Add Period will run from December 12th, 2016 to January 13th, 2017.
Friday, November 4th is the 40th Class Day. This is the last day to drop Fall 2016 classes without academic penalty.
As a reminder, I am available for appointments and drop ins during course selection. If you would like to sit down with me for an appointment please come to Johnston Hall 133A and sign up for a 15 minute time slot on the sheets provided. I ask that you only have one sign up time during this course selection period so others can have a chance to sign up as well. Please note that you must book your appointment time before we close the day before the appointment. No same day appointments will be booked unless it is an emergency.
Many courses are doing what is called “rolling enrollment”. This means they are opening spots throughout the course selection period with hopes of giving students with later selection windows equal opportunity to add courses. If a course is full and the cap looks suspiciously low (nothing is capped at 5!), they are likely using the rolling enrollment system.
As a reminder, the University is closed Monday, October 10th for Thanksgiving. Tuesday, October 11th is a study break day and there are no classes. The Program Counselling Office will be open October 11th and operating on regular hours (10:00am to 3:00pm). Drop in hours for course selection will be held on October 11th from 11:30am-12:30pm.
Classes missed on October 10th will be held on Friday, December 2nd and will be a Monday schedule. Classes missed on October 11th will be held on Thursday, December 1st and will be a Tuesday schedule.
