Student Financial Services is your primary contact for all student account questions including tuition and payment deadlines, but this needs to be repeated: Remember to pay the $200 deposit by August 5th (earlier if using electronic payment). Warning: The Registrar's Office can and will deregister you from your courses if you do not make this payment and there is no guarantee you will be able to get back into your courses once you pay the deposit.
Friday July 8th is the 40th Class Day. This is the last day to drop Summer 2016 classes without academic penalty.
Course selection for incoming first year students will end on July 4th. Please contact the Program Counselling Office at 519-824-4120 ext. 54800 if you are having troubles with your course selection (note that the office is closed on the weekends and the University is closed on Friday, July 1st). The next course selection period will be open from August 22nd to September 16th.
For those of you who are going to complete your courses in August, you need to apply to graduate by June 23rd, 2016 to avoid a late penalty. You would have already received an email from the Registrar’s Office with instructions if you will complete 20.00 credits this semester. Please refer to the information on the graduation webpage for more information about the process (under "Current Students", select "Graduation" on the right hand side).
UPDATE: Spots are open!
For all Equine Management students: BIOL 1050 will open more spots later today.
I just wanted to give a bit of insight into how first year courses are monitored by departments and how it conflicts with the time of day when many of you are selecting courses. Most of us leave work before 5:00pm; just when course selection is really getting started by students as you get home from school or work. This may sometimes means that spaces fill up overnight when students are selecting and staff members are not monitoring spaces in courses.
Yes, students entering their first semester in the fall will only be taking four courses!
For the B.B.R.M. degree program students are required to take a course worth 1.00 credits. For Environmental Management students, this is ENVS*1030 and for Equine Management students this is EQN*1010. This course, in addition to the other three courses each worth 0.50 credits, will give you a total of 2.50 credits which gives you full-time registration.
This also means you cannot select an elective course for the fall semester.
Please note that the last day for current students (everyone except the incoming first year students) to add Summer and Fall courses is Friday, May 20th.
Current students can add Fall courses during the next course selection period for current students, June 6th - June 10th.
Incoming first year students can continue to select courses until Monday, July 4th.
Yes, MGMT 2150 is appearing as full already, but that is only temporary! MGTM 2150 is a second year course which means our current students have already selected quite a few of the spots in that course when they picked courses in March. In order to save all of you spots, we "filled" the course so it appears full, preventing our current students from selecting it. This week, course selection is open to all students, so we are continuing to protect those spots. Please check back new week when we open the spots since just incoming students are allowed to select starting next week.
For the Summer semester, our office doors will be open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00am-3:00pm. Appointments outside of these times can be made if they are arranged in advance by calling the office during our open door hours (ext. 54800). These hours will begin the week of May 16th. Please note that our office has limited staff this summer so there may be times when the office is closed during our posted open hours. Please check the announcements for up to date information about hours or call the office at extension 54800 to check current availability.
